Governments across Australia have committed to Closing the Gap, yet meaningful First Nations inclusion in public institutions remains a challenge. This timely workshop supports Priority Reforms 1 and 3, offering practical tools to build culturally safe, inclusive, and responsive government organisations. Join peers and community leaders to drive real change and empower Indigenous leadership at every level.
In response to these challenges we have launched this workshop, designed to:
-
Deepen understanding of the cultural, structural, and policy factors shaping Indigenous participation in the public sector.
-
Provide practical strategies for promoting career progression, retention, and genuine inclusion.
-
Explore how cultural safety and confronting racism can drive better governance and policy outcomes.
-
Foster a shared space for public servants, policymakers, and community leaders to build partnerships and reimagine public sector institutions from the ground up.
By attending, you will gain insights, tools, and connections to help lead the cultural and systemic transformations our public institutions need—and ensure First Nations voices are not just heard but embedded in the decisions that shape our communities.
